Let Your Light Shine!

Before coming down to the Delta in 2023 we had been plagued by the Covid-19 Pandemic that caused us to move our church from four walls to a conference call setting in 2020. We have remained in the setting until this very day and now back in fellowship at our local church as well. However, during that time our conference call ministry "Showdown At Sundown" under Reverend Charles B. Cotton Sr. went nationwide bringing in Christians from various parts of the country. We study with our Daily Walk Bibles weekly from Genesis through Revelations. We support each other through encouragement and prayer and sermons given by sometimes various Minister's throughout the United States. I had begun radio in 2006 and had a hard time in making a impact in television since Cleveland, Ohio is a larger market until 2022. I had been searching for television openings through various Job sites on the web and ran across one in Greenville, Mississippi. Totally unfamiliar with Greenville, Mississippi I reached out to the station. I had spoke with a employee who was from the same city my Pastor was from, Hollandale. I then spoke with the News Director and built a relationship with him for about three months through demo tapes, reporting etc. During that time I informed my Showdown At Sundown Members of what was going on and we instantaneously made a decision to take it to the Lord in Prayer. Needless, to say I had taken a flight down to Jackson, Mississippi around Christmas time of 2022 and had drove to meet my future boss in Greenville who was impressed by my idea to fly down on my own dime. My journey down to the Delta was no fluke. It was about stepping out on faith and trusting God. My boss had seen something in me that I didn't know existed down here in the Delta. I knew my Pastor was a God fearing man but I didn't know most people in the Delta were the same way. All of this led me to beginning a "Shining A Light" series on the Delta News and know sharing that series with you in this book.
