Overview

A proven formula for developing and improving one's Leadership Effectiveness is identified and discussed in this book. What differentiates this leadership book from other books in this genre, is the overarching idea that effective leaders understand that followers do not always remember what they hear a leader say, but they most certainly remember how the leader makes them feel. To this end, effective leadership should be all about promoting a climate of goodwill where followers feel respected and empowered to focus on the organizational vision through engagement and innovation. The end result is a win-win mindset amongst leaders and followers that fuels a motivational environment along with a quality focus resulting in increased work satisfaction and market share.

The Management Research Group's (MRG) highly validated leadership effectiveness analysis (LEA) tool, taken by over two million individuals worldwide, is also explored and applied to the leadership role in the form of twenty-two specific leadership effectiveness behaviors.

The words of the legendary Nobel Prize winning writer Ernest M. Hemingway says it best in terms of why a leader should focus on improving one’s personal effectiveness as described in this book. Al
Leadership Effectiveness Leadership Effectiveness by Dr. Jack Cichy is a clear, practical, and insight‑rich guide for anyone committed to becoming a more capable leader. What sets this book apart is Cichy’s ability to bridge the gap between leadership theory, management science, and real‑world application. Rather than offering abstract concepts, he translates decades of research—especially the leadership behaviors identified by Management Research Group (MRG)—into actionable practices leaders can use immediately. Cichy excels at showing how specific, research‑based behaviors show up in day‑to‑day leadership challenges: motivating teams, navigating conflict, building trust, and driving performance. Readers walk away not only understanding what effective leaders do, but how to apply those behaviors in their own context. The book’s tone is accessible, its examples relatable, and its guidance grounded in evidence. Leaders at any level—new supervisors, seasoned executives, or those aspiring to lead—will find tools that elevate their effectiveness. It’s the kind of book that invites reflection, encourages growth, and rewards readers who put its ideas into practice. Allen Wetherell MM--Retired educator and business trainer. Read more
