Description

Kissie Banks’ poetry collection, Last Notes, offers something for everyone.  It is a tapestry woven together from years of experience in many arenas.  The book begins in public with “Crowded Streets” but then moves increasingly inward.  The second section includes the long, haunting “Peek and See,” trying to find “beauty and life” in a strife-filled world.  Section three focuses on relationships, including “Lullaby for My Brown-Eyed Girls.”  The following poems highlight elements of nature—trees, blooms, stars.  The last three sections center on love but in different dimensions: first one-on-one love poems, then more intimate meditations, and finally a section that investigates belief and finding meaning, making meaning.  Readers will find in these poems imagery and emotions easy to connect with.
