About the author
RON FORMISANO describes his crime novels as "muckraking fiction" because his protagonist reporter Clay "Thorne" Hawthorne investigates the powers behind drug dealing, human trafficking, child pornography and other social plagues "hiding in plain sight." Ron writes novels for the challenge and the enjoyment. As a professional historian he wrote political history (five books), a book about Maine lobsterfishermen in the 1950s prosecuted by the federal government for price fixing, and completed his string of serious books with one on contemporary economic inequality and the final one on an oligarchic permanent political class. He is not a member of the guild of mutual back-scratching crime novelists and lives with his wife Erica and Little Dog, a weird chihuahua who makes him laugh. That, and summers in Maine seems to poreaerve his sanity.
