Overview
This is a sweet story (ages 4-7yr) about a little girl named Chloe who travels with her father to visit her grandmother in Haiti. Before she leaves, Chloe wonders what the children in Haiti will be like and whether they do the same things she likes to do. Although it is a different country and she notices a few differences from her country, Chloe is excited to learn that she has a lot in common with the children in Haiti. Spanish (Ninos Como Yo) and Haitian Creole (Tout Timoun se Timoun) versions available as well.
Description
Little Chloe is excited to take a special trip with her father to visit her grandmother in Haiti. As she tells her friends about the upcoming trip, Chloe and her friends wonder what the kids in Haiti are like and whether they like to do the same things like jumping rope while singing, playing soccer, working math problems and singing at church. Chloe is happy to learn that the kids in Haiti are very similar to Chloe and her friends, and they like to do many of the same things. When she returns from the trip, Chloe is excited to tell her friends at home about the kids in Haiti. Spanish (Ninos Como Yo) and Haitian Creole (Tout Timoun se Timoun) versions available as well. Lisa Aguirre grew up in a small town in Maryland, but has traveled all over the world in her work for many years in public service at the U.S. State Department. Recently she transferred to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and enjoys this new stateside work. She holds a masters degree in clinical psychology and a law degree from Tulsa University. She is married to Wilde with five adult children and two grandchildren.
