Description

Mark and Susan had no choice. The authorities demolished their shop, leaving them with nothing but fear and uncertainty. With their backs against the wall, they fled Nigeria, driven by a desperate hope for a better life in Chile. But Chile wasn't the refuge they imagined. Instead, it became a labyrinth of challenges: a foreign language that left them voiceless, the constant threat of deportation without legal papers, and betrayal by their host, who locked them out without warning. Forced into the streets, Mark and Susan struggled to find shelter, navigating a city that seemed to close in on them at every turn. With grit and determination, they found work. Yet, life was far from stable. They battled relentless noise from neighbors, the crushing blow of job loss, and even violent attacks that left them bruised and battered. After two grueling years, a glimmer of hope appeared in the form of temporary resident permits. But the nightmare was far from over. Driven by a desire for freedom, Mark, Susan, and a small group of friends decided to leave Chile behind. Their journey was nothing short of a thriller: crossing multiple countries, evading dangers at every step, and facing the raw elements. Each border was a new challenge, each checkpoint a potential end to their dream. Finally reaching the U.S. border, their ordeal took a devastating turn. Homeland Security detained them, separating Mark and Susan and leaving them in a state of fear and uncertainty once more. Days turned into weeks in detention, each moment stretching endlessly until, finally, they were reunited. Now, their journey truly begins.
