About The Author

Joshua Crews is a man with a vivid imagination. Growing up, he would play with toys in his room and be perfectly content all by himself. Even if there were no toys, an ongoing story in his head would keep him entertained. This once lost, but not forgotten, talent for storytelling led him to the Jungle of Purpose.

Joshua finds joy in the little things. Give him a pair of running shoes or sit him on the edge of a mountain, and he'll be perfectly content. Alone with his thoughts, is how the jungle grew. It grew as large as the world he looked down on from atop a mountain.

Joshua is proud to be a child of God, husband to his beautiful wife Chaka, and father to his baby boy Noah. Without them, he would not have the strength to make it through the jungle.

Overview

In this first book in the series, Joshua and four of his travel companions embark from the Manger Inn, in search of the Fountain of Everlasting Life. They walk and talk down a trail that will take them into the thick of the jungle, as Joshua leads with teachings on finding purpose in God. Although God is the base of these teachings, the mind, the beautiful destructive mind, takes center stage. Backstage, the narrator paces back and forth until it is time for them to take over, and relief Joshua and his companions from the lesson plan. Without the narrator this would be just a book series full of lessons, but their wit is what brings the jungle to life. Will you join them in the jungle, or will you continue to wander around aimlessly, seeking purpose in all the wrong places?

Description

There are seven pieces that make the jungle complete. The first piece are the lessons. Like a pyramid, these lessons build on each other throughout the entire book series.

The second piece are thinking breaks at the end of each lesson. A way to reflect on the topic at hand and make the journey personal to you, the reader.

The third piece is the Reference Guide. Backing up the lessons with scriptures is imperative in ensuring the jungle does not collapse.

The fourth piece are the prayers integrated throughout the whole series. Without God’s help, the jungle would devour all who enter.

The fifth piece is the narrator who brings the jungle to life. Without the narrator, this would be just another book that takes you from A to B.

The sixth piece are Joshua’s travel companions. Without them, the story could not exist.

The seventh and final piece is the artwork. A picture speaks a thousand words, which is why the artist was given free range to draw what she pictured when reading different parts of the journey.
