Overview

The purpose of the Journaling Mmeories Audio process is to stimulate the mind, enhancing the participant's memory of unique and defining elements of their life. It is suggested that the participants make a record of this engagement to set the foundation for a personal heirloom that they may share with future generations. The journaling may be accomplished using a Journaling Memories workbook, notes, digital entry or by recording the participant's thoughts. Often, photos and saved memorabilia can add to this process. A secondary purpose is to assist aging individuals with memory difficulties by exercising and stimulating their thinking process. In addition, this may serve as a helpful and useful time absorbing activity for retired or less active persons. Some participants may find this experience solely an exciting trip down their life's memory lane.

Some participants may find this experience solely an exciting trip down their life's memory lane. The process includes over 350 thought provoking question organized into seven major groups and encompassing over fifty identified life areas. Any of the areas or questions for consideration may be avoided or altered to better reflect the thinking of the participant. After reviewing the entire series of questions some participants, often with the assistance of a family member or caregiver may chose to focus solely on a small group or a series of questions that better reflect the history or lessons they would like to leave for others. This abbreviated version permits a deeper reflection and discovery in the selected areas. In addition, participants may also choose to create and respond to their own related thoughts and questions to better reflect their life.
