About the author

William “Bill Jr.” Kind Hamburg, Jr. was a writer, entrepreneur and avid world traveler. Also serving in the Vietnam war, Hamburg received the honorary Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals for his valor during this time. His father, William “Pappy” Kind Hamburg Sr. was also a successful real estate entrepreneur in the Pittsburgh area developing real estate and even starting his own Hamburg Savings & Loan Bank in Pittsburgh and the Dorothy Carol Gallery in Stone Harbor, NJ. Hamburg spent 5 years in Egypt and the middle east during the years 1998 - 2003 as a journalist and writer for a local newspaper in Cairo. Hamburg wrote and spoke Spanish, German and Arabic and always had keen interest in antiques and fine art. Hamburg also spent many years in Central America during the 80‘s with his wife, Joey Best. They owned and operated the famous tourist destination, Fido’s Restaurant and had a son, William “Will” Joseph Hamburg in Belize, Central America.
