Rebecca Chesner is a retired school psychologist who spent her career advocating for children. During her career she loved using story telling and music to teach positive messages about life. These days she enjoys writing children's books that evoke feelings of nostalgia and warmth. Her previous book, Savta's House, recounts a young girl spending a wonderful day with her Savta on her day off from school. It's Five Minutes to Candle Lighting is a joyful and heartwarming Shabbos story based on growing up in her parents' home in the 1970s. Rebecca Chesner's favorite activities are writing, storytelling, music, nature walks, spending time with her grandchildren and of course making her delicious chicken soup to serve to family, friends and guests on Shabbat.
