Writer and author Renae Plant is the co-founder and curator of the award-winning and 2020 Webby Award Honoree virtual and interactive museum, “The Princess Diana Museum,” a ground-breaking 3D immersive online experience and historical archival repository which holds the largest private collection with 14 galleries and over 2,700 carefully curated of Princess Diana’s most iconic personal belongings, spanning her entire lifetime. Plant was fortunate to meet Princess Diana, not once, but twice in her homeland Australia in 1983 and 1989 during her Royal Tours. The first time in 1983, was on a middle school field trip, where Princess Diana dropped a tiny clay platypus. Perhaps, that was meant to be, as this simple token shaped Plant’s ethos. Princess Diana’s kind and philanthropic acts resonated dearly with Plant, who co-founded in 2017 along with her husband Livinio, “The Princess & the Platypus Foundation,” a non-profit to raise funds for children’s charities in Diana's honor. Plant co-owns and operates the Los Angeles-based, Camelot Kids Preschool, along with her husband Livinio, and three children Ilan, Mateo and Deklan. In 2015, Plant was recognized for her charity work within the field of child education by the US Congress, and honored as a “28th Congressional District Woman of the Year.”
Hairdresser Richard Dalton began his impressive career at the precocious age of 15. Dalton's success is in part due to his belief that hairstyles should reflect a client's unique lifestyle and look, rather than mimic the hair trends of the day. Dalton's creativity, talent, and well-respected global reputation among other hair professionals and celebrities captured the attention of Britain's royalty. In 1978, a seventeen-year-old Lady Diana Spencer walked into Dalton's salon. This meeting marked the beginning of the duo's close friendship and the rise of a beauty and style icon. Three years later, Dalton became HRH Princess Diana's personal hairdresser while running his salon in London's prestigious Claridge's Hotel. Over the next twelve years, Dalton created Princess Diana's iconic, daring hairstyles and elaborate updos; each leaving an indelible mark on hair, fashion, and royal history. In the 1990s, Dalton moved to the United States, where he worked as creative director at Clairol, fashion director at Paul Mitchell Systems, and stylist to fashion icons like Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren. Now enjoying his retirement in Orange County, Dalton still enjoys creating fancy updos for friends and shooting fashion photography.
