About the author

Ray "Ritz" Ingram was born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1950. His surroundings and the circumstances of his youth almost dictated his life's path. His encounters with a few special people, and the fact that basketball found its way into his life, changed his life. He has participated in the game of basketball as a player, as a coach, and as a referee. He was a teacher and soldier. All of these elements affected his views on basketball and life. He agrees that there is more to life than basketball ... but he has learned that there is much more to basketball than "just" basketball. -
