Brenda Christine started writing poetry at the age of 14 with two nostalgic poems about summertime in which she typed up on her parents typewriter. A year later, the life and death of late actor and musician River Phoenix made a profound impact on Brenda's life both personally and professionally, including her experience of moving from Michigan to California at the age of 18.
Inspired by Phoenix, she became self-taught on guitar, including singing and songwriting, which eventually led to the genesis of The Royal Vynes.
She attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eckerd College (St. Petersburg, FL) in 2005 with a focus on poetry. Along the way she has written poems, songs, music, articles, screenplays, plays, and short stories.
After several years of writing, singing, and performing, Brenda Christine has now gone back to her poetry roots, as she presents her first publication, Into the Distance Between Us.
