YVONNE S. THORNTON, M. D., M. P. H is a double Board-certified specialist in obstetrics, gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. She is the national best-selling author of the beloved family memoir, "The Ditchdigger's Daughters. Dr. Thornton received her M.D. degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City and also earned an Executive Masters (M.P.H.) degree in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University. Dr. Thornton has risen to the faculty rank of full Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is married to an orthopedic surgeon, has two children and lives in New Jersey.
