Description

The book is divided into segments, showing a transition in the author's emotions with the passage of time. It begins with a collection of poems written before the death of her husband. The subsequent sections reflect the feelings which surfaced in the days, weeks and months which passed during the first year after the unexpected event. She moves through the horror and shock of the initial engulfment in grief to a greater acceptance of his passage. With an appreciation of the words of St. Francis of Assisi: " It is in dying we are born into eternal life", the experience can be seen through a more eternal perspective.
