About the author
Lois Joy Hofmann reached the top of the corporate ladder, retiring as CEO of a publicly-held biomedical company after a 35-year career in advertising, marketing, and management. She then completed her circumnavigation with her husband, Günter. Intrepid adventurers, the couple now embarks on more conventional travel with the goal of understanding countries and cultures that they omitted the first time around. When not traveling, Hofmann resides in San Diego, California, and Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, where she enjoys writing, speaking and photography.
Hofmann is the author of Maiden Voyage and Sailing the South Pacific, the first two books in her trilogy called In Search of Adventure and Moments of Bliss. Maiden Voyage won first place in the travel category of the 2011 San Diego Book Awards. Hofmann’s stories have appeared in magazines such as Latitudes and Attitudes, Cruising World and Living Aboard. She has been a contributor to online magazines and blogs such as: Multihull Magazine, Yacht Blogs, Multihull newsletter, and Top Dekk. Hofmann has been a keynote speaker for various organizations and venues including yacht clubs, optimist clubs, rotary clubs, book stores and libraries.
