If your church suddenly disappeared, would anyone notice? We can’t answer that question without taking a closer look at the type of impact we are making in the world around us... and we may not like the answer we come up with.

But what if we could change that?

What would happen if every believer began to put action to Matthew 5:16? What if every one of us started to look for ways to make a difference in our immediate circles: our families, our neighborhoods, our workplaces, our communities? What if we started to take a close look at the spark that God has placed in each of us and began to imagine how we could use that to light up our world with the presence of Jesus?

About the author

Steve Lingenfelter serves as the Lead Pastor at New Life Community Church in Peoria, AZ and assists several community organizations and non-profit ministries. He is a freelance writer and a weekly writing contributor for the Peoria Times and the Glendale Star.

Patrick McCalla is the Teaching Pastor at New Life and leads the community-focused organization, HOPE INITIATIVES. He has worked with Food For The Hungry, launching their City Initiatives Program and also serves on the Advisory Board for Slavery No More.
