About the author

Modesty M. McGavin finds her happiness in the simple joys of life. These are mainly children and dogs. For her, writing children's books is like making friends. Like a friendship that starts with a handshake, this begins with the first turn of the page. And just like a good conversation with a friend, this is followed with uplifting stories that are definitely worth keeping and repeating.

Modesty is a child-at-heart who enjoys dancing, voice mimicking and nurturing the love amongst her three dogs two of whom are rescues. She likes seeing tangible accomplishments such as fruits growing in her garden, as well as intangible ones like her works at religious and non-profit institutions. She had devoted years generating funds to make educational media available to impoverished children.

(Monte Cassino books are available in print and electronic formats. Please also check the read-aloud book "Puppy Curly's First Four Seasons.")

About the illustrator

John Crisostomo is an "emotion-in-motion" artist. John's drawings secure the messages of story books with both his broad and detailed interpretations; and like a puppeteer, he doesn't simply create drawings, but captures the emotions behind the words and breaths life into them. In every page, he puts the right amount of visual zest to keep readers entertained and motivated.

John, a certified animal-lover, has no plans of slowing down in extending his artistic abilities to various authors worldwide. John was also supervisor for the Computer Graphics and Animation Department of a leading Broadcasting Network where he spearheaded among others the production of artworks, 2D and 3D images for various educational television shows. He is an artist for both the printed and television media, and in all these platforms, John's creative juice is unstoppable and his creative contributions always meaningful.
