Ill and Sordid Paths is a series of collections that take the average paths of life and takes them to the dark extreme. We each live through situations that could easily go beyond the calm and peace and devolve to the horrific and tragic. Ill and Sordid Paths: Nightmares of Negligence is a collection of stories that not only introduces new author A.P-Hooten to the horror community, but it also introduces a new perspective to the genre. Ill and Sordid Paths: Nightmares of Negligence, even with its supernatural elements takes normal life and it highlights the growing darkness that surrounds all of our lives. These stories are crafted with life in mind because, though zombies and werwolves have their appeal there is nothing more frightening than the darkness we bring about ourselves. The idea of a lover loving us too much, that a child is so lonely that he would befriend any entity that showed him interest, Ignoring the warnings of our elders only to suffer the very consequences that they told us about. These types of situations are what opens our individual paths to potentially tragic result and this book is how tragic those results can be.

About the author


A.P- Hooten, 28, Is from the gray & gloomy Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania region of Appalachia. He has been a life long writer and has always remained true to his tales of darkness, misery, suffering, and the perversion of the human condition. He showed a natural talent all throughout middle and high school gaining much praise from his teachers and mentors for the tales and essays he crafted. He has been praised by many local writers and has been destined to enter the ranks of the published artists of the written medium. He currently resides in an equally gloomy mountain range as that of his birth in West Virginia, spending much of his time there and further South where he draws much of his inspiration and influence. Being a product of southern stalk he uses the roots given to him to strengthen his art and deliver the twisted tales the horror lover desires. He is well on his way to establishing a foundation in the horror pantheon and earning his place as a beloved author of darkness. Tragedy brought him to the pen and it is tragedy that he serves cold on the butchers block of terror.
