The engaging story is paired with relatable, diverse characters throughout the artwork. An interdisciplinary project funded in part by the Texas Woman's University Creative Arts and Humanities Grant, the book is written by Dr. Camila Maier, TWU Biology faculty with scholarly expertise in plant-pollinator relationships and Chair of The Bettye Myers Butterfly Gardens. The illustrations and design were created by TWU graphic design majors Chelsea Flores and Kathryn Kelly, respectively. Dr. Maria Serrano, TWU Biology faculty, provided the Spanish translation.
