Description

A moving anthology of personal stories gathered from the residents of a New York nursing home. From tales of first love and wartime survival to unexpected adventures, simple joys, and bittersweet goodbyes, these accounts reflect the breadth of the human experience — as seen through the eyes of those in their twilight years. This collection preserves the voices of a generation often overlooked; while names and details have been thoughtfully changed to protect privacy, the emotional truth of each story remains intact. Told with honesty, humor, and surprising insight, "How It All Began" invites readers to sit at the feet of their elders — to listen, to laugh, and perhaps to remember the stories in their own lives that deserve to be told. Perfect for readers who love oral history, intergenerational storytelling, or simply believe that every life has something to teach us!
