Overview
The author has published a trilogy of House of Dunbar books on the 1000-year history of the Dunbars in Scotland beginning with Gospatric, Earl of Northumbria, in England during the Norman Conquest of England beginning in 1066. He later became the 1st Earl of Dunbar after being granted Dunbar and the adjacent lands in Lothian in southeast Scotland by King Malcolm III of Scotland in 1074. The Part I book provides the history of the Earls of Dunbar in Scotland from 1074 to 1435. The Part II book provides the history of the many branches of the Dunbar descendants of Gospatric after 1435 to the present-day including a description of six Dunbar baronetcies. The Part III book describes the life and times of Gospatric and his descent from Scottish and English kings. The author is a member of the Clan Dunbar organization. As part of his research and writings, he has assembled genealogy and Y-DNA data for Dunbar males in order to track branches of the House of Dunbar in Scotland, Ireland, Australia, and America.
