Overview
This book introduces children to ideas that will inspire them: being kind to themselves when they face trouble, having friends, and distinguishing between the stories that fear ignites and what's actually happening. This book demonstrates kindness, resilience, and mindfulness; traits that can benefit every child. It's amazing what they might learn from the adventures of a flying pig.
Description
Hornwell Honeypicker the Flying Pig is discovered by a little boy and launched into the air. With practice, he learns to fly. With help from his friends, he stands up to a crabby bully and then goes on an adventure with the little boy who found him. They travel through the Land of the Flummoxes - characters of different sizes and shapes all of whom are consumed by their own unique question. They travel through the Land of Darkness where they have to confront a giant. There's action and adventure and the little boy learns to be kind to himself when he's sad or troubled, to distinguish real problems from fears, and that things can get better when you face problems. Warm your heart and get ready for a wonderful ride. The story is beautifully illustrated by Lorraine Dey.
