Description
It's the 1970's and Pastor John Larson is young, handsome, and completely dedicated to the Lord and His calling. He's just settled into his new ministry at the Pleasant Pastures Community Church in Eastern Washington. Wendy Baker is young, beautiful and incredibly damaged. After growing up in chaos and dysfunction, Wendy finds her life spiraling downhill fast. She seeks out a church in hopes of finding answers to her issues, but is rejected simply because of the way she's dressed. Upon leaving the church she experiences a glimmer of hope when she meets Kevin, a young Jesus Freak. But sadly, within a short time, she suffers a devastating loss, causing her to finally give up and letting life take her where it will. But Nick, her gangster boss, has plans for Wendy. He wants her to move from topless dancing to prostitution. At the urgent warning of an inner voice, Wendy runs away and eventually into the arms of Pastor John Larson. Their love grows, but so does Wendy's anxiety. Would her new friends at church be quite so accepting if they knew her past? She is about to find out.
About the author
Greg Chantler is a retired pastor who served 40+ years in several ministry positions, including youth, music, single adults, church planting and the senior pastorate. As a manuscript preacher, writing is natural for him. However, after always being faithful to the Biblical text, he now finds great joy as a fiction writer in "making stuff up." He and his wife Jane have spent their entire ministry career in Tacoma, Washington, serving among their many friends.
