Sharlie Byrd is a native of South Carolina where she spent her childhood. She now lives in Mississippi with her tortoiseshell cat, Lily Tori. This story is based on a real Mississippi map turtle and a pet miniature poodle named Coco. Sharlie wishes to say a special thank you to her son, Trey.
