If you were asked to save a distant city from an unknown, looming darkness—one that will almost certainly kill you—it kind of makes you wonder: who would want to be a hero?
Aaron loves the life he’s got. It’s just him, his twin brother Aton, and their mother living atop a picturesque mountain top, herding sheep, and hiding the fact that they’re all werewolves. The humans down below don’t care much for shifters, they’d like Aaron even less if they knew he had magical powers as well. As long as they stay hidden, they should be all right.
But things are never that simple. After a tragic accident Aaron and his brother learn that there’s an impending disaster in the east, and it’s apparently their destiny to go and fight it. His brother Aton is all for it, but he always been the bigger, stronger, and braver of the brothers. Aaron on the other hand, isn’t so sure. Trekking through knee deep snow, in shadowy forest filled with cruel and veracious demons, he has to wonder if he’ll survive the trip, let alone the sinister force at the end.
Will Aaron’s fledgling sorcery and Aton’s warrior training be enough to stand against the looming darkness? Or will they be swallowed by it? Because fate is one thing—but when dragons and gods start getting involved, how can two brothers hope to change the course of destiny?
