Hearts Bigger than a Box

When Charlotte Clyve was growing up, she often searched bookshelves for a book that depicted a unique family similar to hers. But due to the lack of representation of blended families in literature, Charlotte had trouble explaining her "different," but loving, family structure to her classmates. Looking back now, she doesn't want any child to have a hard time explaining to others the people they love. When she was a senior in high school, she decided to write a children's book highlighting diverse family structures, like her own. The characters in "Hearts Bigger Than a Box" are based on her three siblings and herself, and the book also highlights the unique bond they share. Charlotte lives with her blended family in Canton, Massachusetts, is president of her graduating class at Canton High School, and plans to continue studying and fostering inclusive leadership in college and beyond. She hopes this book reaches her target audience and beyond, sparking discussions about different types of families.
