Overview
Hazel was determined not to waste her time working hard for others for little money.
She would rather use her hands in self-employment. She started in Jamaica WI serving
food in a small run-down shack. Then her hands helped to feed a soulful crowd of
customers. She gained enormous profit that converted her shack into a restaurant and
bar, then she was persuaded to follow the American dream. In the beginning, Hazel
realized the grass was not greener. She started as a maid with little pay. She quit her job
and found another better opportunity to work at Big Al's restaurant. Big Al thought Hazel
was a blessing. She managed to bring back Big Al's business. Hazel earned enough
money to bring her family to America and purchased a home. Hazel's American dream
had come true despite the loss of her mother and her boss. Hazel's soulful hands
brought them out through the struggle.
