Hazel was determined not to waste her time working hard for others for little money. She would rather use her hands in self-employment. She started in Jamaica WI serving food in a small run-down shack. Then her hands helped to feed a soulful crowd of customers. She gained enormous profit that converted her shack into a restaurant and bar, then she was persuaded to follow the American dream. In the beginning, Hazel realized the grass was not greener. She started as a maid with little pay. She quit her job and found another better opportunity to work at Big Al's restaurant. Big Al thought Hazel was a blessing. She managed to bring back Big Al's business. Hazel earned enough money to bring her family to America and purchased a home. Hazel's American dream had come true despite the loss of her mother and her boss. Hazel's soulful hands brought them out through the struggle.

She planted a seed that instrumental root to spiritual tides to her faith. Hazelitta always wore strong armor with the Lord." Mrs. Hazelitta Thompson loved to contribute to organizations that support children's welfare. St Jude foundation and Feed the children org. are the two that she always sponsors.
