When Mallory Flynn first met Alden Albert, a world famous concert pianist, she was only a star-struck young college student. Much to her surprise as well as to the surprise of her parents, the musician pursued her during her studies in NYC. She gave her word to marry him though she feared his mother who was the very definition of "hated-stage-Mom," During her time in NYC, she also became friends with Shaun Longfeather who would become a famous cellist. They were soul mates but time and circumstance pulled them apart. They lost contact and Shaun had no idea what happened to his beloved friend. They never really stopped loving and thinking about each other. At an Amateur Piano COmpetition at the college where Mallory taught, Shaun was one of the judges. The behind the scenes look at this amatuer competition has some funny moments as well as very touching ones. There ia a mystery about Dr. Flynn. Shaun,too, has some issues with which he must deal. Alden Albert's mother and her hatred for the young woman whom she blames for destroying Alden's career is hostile and punitive even long after the couple have divorced. THe story of loves lost to each other and then reunited is set against the worlds of concert muscians, academics and equestrian endeavors. There is a generous helping of humor and, mystery.
About the author
Susan Anthony-Tolbert, Ph.D., a retired professor and research psychologist, is currently a freelance harpist and marimbaist in the Northern Neck and Tidewater areas of VIrginia as well as in Maryland. Throughout her tenure at Gallaudet University she has authored textbooks in social psychology, in personality theory and research, in observational methods and in cross cultural studies. Her research in social psychology has been pulished in a variety of refereed journals. Her latest interest is historical research. She has published books on Dr. James Skelton Gilliam, a Confederate Civil War physician, as well as on Lucy Long, Robert E. Lee's beloved other warhorse.Her humorous essays on her life with horses have been published in such nationally known magazines THe Chronicle of the Horse, Horse, Of Course, Western Horseman and the Paper Horse. Music has always played an important part in Susan's life. Her CD recordings of harp and of marimba music are selling both at the national and local levels. Susan has written a wide variety of fiction and non-fictions books, many on animals and cherished pets.
