Overview
"Happily Ever Awkward" is a small-town, friends-to-lovers, contemporary romance filled with humor, tangled family relationships, and endearing side characters. North Carolina pharmacist Dominic Parker has the perfect life. Perfectly boring, according to his oh-so-helpful friends and family. His perfectly boring life disappears when Lydia Merritt moves in across the street, with her own brand of entertaining chaos. She's determined to give Dom and his fiancée the perfect wedding, but what if Dom's not-so-perfect wedding planner turns out to be his perfect bride?
Description

He might be the perfect man.

Small-town pharmacist Dominic Parker does everything right. He's never late for work, church, or family dinners. He never drives too fast, never starts fights, never drinks too much. Instead, Dom is a problem-solving, shoulder-to-cry-on, designated-driver kind of guy. He's the guy voted Most Dependable in high school… the perfect one. If his friends delight in calling him Dominic Do-Right on occasion, Dom doesn't have time to care. He's too busy trying not to be like his charming—and chronically unreliable—heartbreaker of an older brother.

She is a work in progress.

Two years after divorcing her abusive husband, Lydia Merritt is finally moving in the right direction. When her dream job brings her to Dominic Parker's small North Carolina town, she seizes the opportunity to thank him for the random act of kindness that changed her life. As director of Rochester House—Honeysuckle Creek's premier wedding venue—Lydia is confident she can give Dom and his fiancée the perfect wedding. Well, she's pretty confident… sort of. To accomplish her goal, Lydia has to persuade the "Duchess"—her humorless and aggravating employer—that she is the right person for the job, and she has to charm the venue's eavesdropping butler who tattles on her every move. She also has to stop making mistakes, a daunting task for someone who is, unfortunately, a magnet for trouble. Speaking of trouble, Lydia should probably spend more time thinking about Dom's wedding and less time thinking about the groom.

Perfectly. Awkward.

Despite a few small—or so he tells himself—issues, Dom's perfect plans are going… perfectly. If his city-loving fiancée dislikes Honeysuckle Creek, Dom's friends, and most of his family (especially his mother), Dom is convinced her feelings will change as soon as they get married. If his globe-trotting brother never comes home, Dom is positive he's better off without him. Dom finds himself increasingly attracted to Lydia Merritt, but he's confident the inconvenient condition is only temporary. Well, he's pretty confident… sort of. Because the perfect groom would never fall in love with his slightly imperfect—but completely adorable—wedding planner. Would he?
