About the author
Lonny Mead, a talented singer, songwriter, and author, has carved out a remarkable journey in the world of music. Born in California and raised in the rugged landscapes of Alaska, Lonny's passion for music led him to pursue his dreams in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. While striving to make his mark in the music industry, Lonny worked in construction and later in the oil and gas sector, steadfastly supporting his musical ambitions. In the lively atmosphere of LA, Lonny became a pivotal member of the 80s rock band Bad Attitude, captivating audiences with electrifying performances at renowned venues such as the Roxy, Whiskey a Go Go, Gazzarri's, and Troubadour, all while under a management deal. However, as the music landscape shifted in the 90s, Lonny departed from Bad Attitude in 1992, embarking on a new musical chapter by joining the heavy metal band Prophecy in Orange County. During this time, he opened for emerging heavy metal acts across Southern California before parting ways in 1994, seeking respite from the tumultuous dynamics of the band scene. Temporarily setting music aside, Lonny delved into the world of construction and the oil and gas industry, all the while continuing to pen songs for a solo album endeavor titled "Skrap Metal." However, the project faced delays when work obligations took him overseas. Eventually, Lonny made the decision to relocate to Texas after spending several years abroad, where he persisted in his pursuit of music, pouring his creativity into writing and recording. In 2017, Lonny achieved a significant milestone by independently releasing his first acoustic instrumental album, "Hummingbird," marking a poignant moment in his musical odyssey. Subsequently, in 2018, he unveiled a heartwarming Christmas song that he had co-written with his daughter Nashia Mead eight years earlier, featuring her as a vocalist alongside him. Undeterred by challenges, Lonny's output surged between 2018 and 2022, with the release of over 60 songs, including the evocative Elements acoustic instrumental album and the compelling story album "Gunslinger," which demanded two years of dedication to complete. Notably, this album featured his son Tristan Mead, adding a deeply personal touch to his musical legacy. Lonny Mead's unwavering dedication, resilience, and artistic fervor have defined his multifaceted career, imbuing his music with a rich tapestry of experiences and heartfelt storytelling. As he continues to captivate audiences with his soul-stirring melodies and poignant lyrics, Lonny stands as a testament to the enduring power of passion and creativity in the pursuit of one's dreams.
