In order to heal we must first know what it is we are trying to heal from. This book defines what grief and trauma is and the different types of each. Overall this, book educates and give ways to overcome the affects of grief and trauma and gives journal prompts to start the healing process and ways to be supportive to a loved one going through stages of grief or after a traumatic experience.
This book defines Trauma and Grief. The definitions include the stages of grief and the different types of both trauma and grief. Examples are given to help you better understand the meaning, understand that it is normal to feel certain emotions and to go through certain stages while experiencing a significant loss. A loss can be one of a loved one, a job or even a separation of a relationship. Not only does this book educate you on what grief and trauma is but guides you on how to be supportive to a friend or loved one while they are going through the stages of grief or after they have experienced a trauma. For the reader there are journal prompts to help guide one through the process of healing from both grief or trauma. If you are ready to heal through your experiences this book will help you with that jump start to healing.
About the author
Ashley L. Blake, BSW, is the author of "Impact" published on 2017. She has a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Masters in Administration of Human Services which aided her experience with working with individuals in the community. She has served as the President for the Phi Alpha Honor Society during her educational career at Salisbury University, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Ashley has used her years of experience as a Case Manager to access the needs of others to assist them in moving forward with healing through their traumas and highlighting their strengths to have a more productive life. After working with clients from young children to older adults and her personal experience, Ashley believes firmly that education is the first step in healing through ones grief and trauma.
