Dede was born in New York and grew up in Charlotte, N.C. Dede went to Charlotte Country Day School, Stratford College, Queens College and then for her Masters in Education at UNC-Charlotte. She has been employed in the NC and SC community college system for over 35 years in the early childhood department as faculty and program coordinator. She has a son and two granddaughters who live in Charlotte. She has served on many state, local, and national committees. She loves to read and loves working with child care providers, teachers and children of all ages. She loves teaching her college students all about working with young children.
