Description
Loretta Felice drops out of high school in Winnemucca, Nevada, and makes her way to Hollywood in a quest to become a ovie star under the name of Diana Dumont. She is accompanied by a girl she meets on the bus ride to Los Angeles, who takes the name of Jane Jefferson. The two girls get settled in LA, but go on separate paths, Diana at the movie studios and Jane on he streets. After struggling as an extra, Diana attends a party in Beverly Hills and meets Anthony Lupo, head of Montagna Studios. Anthony offers to make her a movie star if she agrees to become his girlfriend. Diana works hard and eventually succeeds in the movies, with entanglements with her old friend Jane and other aspiring Hollywood hopefuls that she meets along the way. The surprising conclusion involves a final showdown with Anthony, where Diana charts the course for the rest of her life.
