Pretend with me just for a moment, that you are one of the two original people on earth, living in the Garden of Eden. Your surroundings are perfectly hand-crafted by God to His exact specifications. He personally has placed you in a land full of wonder and unlimited discovery.
Your Heavenly Father provided everything necessary for growth, life, and success as you walk together with Him in your garden. He has given you the highest order of authority and responsibility within this unique realm He created for you. He protects you from fear and its crippling lie that you have to protect yourself to survive. Instead, God thought of everything so that you and your garden can thrive and flourish without fear or shame.
But the most startling realization of all in this make-believe moment, is that God WANTS to be with you in this garden and to do life together with you. Your Father thoroughly enjoys being with you and experiencing your God-given life through what YOU see, and hear, and feel. You have unrestricted access and the undivided attention of the One who made you and loves doing life with you in your garden.
Did you find that difficult to pretend just now? Does all of this sound too good to be true? It certainly would be, except for Jesus! He came precisely so we could be reconnected with God and enjoy life together with Him once again, right here and right now!
At this very moment, you can stop pretending and begin living the beautiful reality of God in your Garden.
