About The Author
Trumpeter, composer, educator, and Staten Island native Anthony Fazio is a two-time Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts graduate. There, he completed his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Jazz Performance. He studied under the tutelage of Joe Magnarelli, Joe Mosello, Conrad Herwig, Ralph Bowen, and Bill O'Connell.
He currently plays lead trumpet for the Charles Mingus Big Band. He has toured and played with the band around the world at venues such as the North Sea, Vittoria, Umbria, and the Alhambra Jazz festivals, as well as The Kennedy Center Jazz Club in Washington, D.C. He has played at other jazz clubs such as the Jazz Standard, Blue Note, and Smoke of NYC. After graduating from Rutgers University, he began a career of teaching his craft to students of all levels, ranging from beginners to professional trumpet players.
