About the author
Born in Mississippi during the Great Depression, Dr. Queenella Miller accomplished several life achievements despite experiencing poverty, jealousy, colorism, and insecurity. Her relentless love for humanity and faith in God were the crux for writing these essays of insight and revelations. With several advanced degrees from renowned institutions, Dr. Miller uses her knowledge to share narratives of navigating academia. She also engages in her community by participating in several professional and civic organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Phi Delta Kappa, and the Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, Illinois. As a community leader, her name and photo were inducted into the Proviso Township High School Wall of Fame by the Maywood Operation Uplift, Inc. The Maywood community showcased her work and photos alongside other great leaders. She currently lives in North Riverside, where she was elected the first Black clerk.
