Aron was born in Oakland, California – one of the few white boys in Oakland — and he’s still white to this day. He grew up at Bancroft and East 14th, in the ‘hood, right in the middle of only two other white people on the block. “If I had to choose between never going fishing again and never telling stories again, I couldn’t choose.
