Overview
Sexy, confident, ambitious, beautiful, are a few words that describe the 'Freshmen Honeys'. The Freshmen Honeys are the girls on campus that all of the guys fawn over, while all of the females either envy or hate. Although their demeanor's may seem perfect on the outside, nobody is immune to the trials and tribulations of life, and each one has an inner struggle within that will eventually be brought to light.
Description
Sexy, confident, ambitious, beautiful, are a few words that describe the 'Freshmen Honeys'. The Freshmen Honeys are the girls on campus that all of the guys fawn over, while all of the females either envy or hate. Although their demeanor's may seem perfect on the outside, nobody is immune to the trials and tribulations of life, and each one has an inner struggle within that will eventually be brought to light. Keisha, 18, is an overly confident, sexy, diva who knows what she wants and exactly how to get it. Keisha's only problem is that because of her "overly confident" attitude she has not had a real female friend since…since forever. When she enters XU for her freshmen year of college she doesn't think that's going to change. That is until a mishap with her housing forces her to room with six females as different as can be. At first glance, there's no way Keisha could see herself being friends with these chicks; but after a week goes by there's no way she could see herself without them in her life. Soon, the seven diva's become known as the 'Freshmen Honey's on campus. "Freshmen Honeys" will take you through the first year college experiences of seven seemingly perfect females as they deal with issues ranging from the transition from high school to college, learning how to deal with vast personalities, struggling with their spirituality, to issues that deal with the opposite sex, and most importantly, finding themselves and God in the process.
About the author
Mahogany Woodland was always an avid reader since the tender age of five. From her passion of reading which went on well into adulthood she always dreamed of becoming an author. Her dream didn’t come into fruition until the summer of her junior year when she was unable to find summer employment so she decided to take a dab at writing a novel. That summer Mahogany wrote 50 pages towards that novel, that is now "Freshmen Honey's". And the rest is history. Mahogany Woodland graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University in 2006, with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Sports Studies. She then attended the George Washington University School of Business for graduate school and graduated in 2008 with a Masters in Tourism Administration. However, she always had a passion and desire to work in a field that would impact lives; especially the lives of children. For that reason, she began to pursue a career in teaching through the Prince George’s County Resident Teacher program; an alternative certification program for non-education majors. Mahogany is currently a Special Education teacher in the county that she grew up in.
