Overview

What should have been a new beginning for Drew and her mother quickly transforms into a battle to survive against an evil that knows no bounds and will stop at nothing to get what it wants. How can Drew survive and save her friends and those she cares about when the ones that are supposed to protect them are the ones she fears the most? Will God show them the way and save them, or will they all be destroyed before they can tell their story?

Description

Moving to the beautiful island of Stygian Cove should have been a fresh start for Drew and her mother, but almost instantly, lies, greed, and experimental fracking unleash an evil beyond anything ever known on the island and its inhabitants; what should have been the American Dream quickly turns into an epic and apocalyptic battle for escape and survival. The largest and most powerful hydro-fracking corporation in the world, Global Energy Savers (G.E.S.) has developed an island into what appears to be a paradise, with the promise of a new method of environmentally friendly hydro-fracking. Drew and her mother, Melissa, move to the island when Melissa takes a job as the new Deputy. Drew makes bonds she never had back home in Jasper, Alabama. She finds an instant friend in Abba, and sparks fly the moment she is introduced to Boone, the Sheriff’s son. Drew finally begins to believe in new beginnings and happy endings until things quickly take a horrific turn. People end up dead in unexplainable ways, dangerous and oddly deformed animals are discovered, crazy weather and natural disasters become daily events, and evil in a beastly form lurks in the dark forest surrounding the island...watching and waiting. Will Drew’s gift of sketching what the eye cannot see show them the way? Will new friends and new love help save them? Or will the evil created on the island and the wicked, greedy fracking corporation destroy them all?

About the author

I am a Registered Nurse, and work as a School Nurse at the high school where I graduated. I am married to the love of my life, and have two daughters. I have always loved a story that transports me to another time or place to the point that I can’t put it down, can’t walk away from it, and can’t wait to read the next chapter! I was born with a flair for dramatics, a tendency to exaggerate, and an ability to be extremely descriptive. I have never published a book before, although I have had a few funny stories related to my job as a school nurse published in a humorous book about school nursing, “I’m not sick, I’m seven!”. I was laid off for a year when the school district I am a nurse for went through a budget crisis, and decided I would turn that negative into a positive and pursue my dream of becoming a fiction writer. This book, FracKture, is my first official attempt!
