Description
This is a wee fairytale created by a little girl with a great love of stories and poems. It starts classically and tells of a king who wants to make sure his daughter is loved for who she is and not just for her background. The beauty and purity are in how the hero is someone who overcomes the odds and remains steadfast in his quest for love. It is a heartfelt tale and the symbolism throughout is the very essence of the writer herself.
About the author
Megan Reynolds was from Belfast N.Ireland. She wrote this little story when she was twelve years old and very ill. Her dream was to be a writer when she grew up but she had developed an incurable progressive condition and after many operations including several brain and spinal surgeries, there was nothing else that could be done. She died at home in her wee pink room surrounded by those she loved. She is gone but she was here and it would make her happy to know that she has raised money for research and to help other children with her words.
