Description

Join Carole Jean for a wild ride that starts in Oakland, California and winds through Paris, London, Frankfurt, Ireland, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Most of the trips were fun; some, not so much. In addition to hauling vacationers to Hawaii, Tahiti, and Las Vegas, Trans International Airlines flew Muslim pilgrims to Mecca, airlifted refugees and troops out of Angola, Cuba, and Vietnam. Carole Jean tells the stories with raw honesty and uncensored candor. Some are hilarious and some will touch your heart, but they all happened in a manner that, in today’s restrictive world, can never be repeated. The rules have changed; the stories must be told. Come along as she joins the “Mile High Club,” skydives over China, gets lost on a horse in the African bush, and flies on the Concorde on the company dime, and dozens of other amazing adventures. Hang onto your pantyhose, and get ready for a wild and crazy ride!

About the author

Carole Jean Connolly graduated college in 1968, with a teaching degree in physical education. While searching the want ads for a teaching job, she stumbled upon a job that appealed to her somewhat unconventional approach to life, working in a Disco in the Virgin Islands, and she decided to sow some wild oats before settling down to the stable life she envisioned; teaching and raising a family in the suburbs. After some interesting adventures, she was hired by Trans International Airlines in 1973 and flew until 1980. She later worked as a California real estate agent while raising two children, and lived in Santa Cruz, California until they graduated college. Adventure beckoned once again, and she moved to the Virgin Islands to work on a charter sailboat as the first mate and chef. She wrote a monthly column for “Crew Life” about her sailing adventures and continues to write stories of her colorful life on her popular blog, “Carole Jean’s Capers.” You can follow her at https://caroleconnolly.wordpress.com/ or contact her at caroleconnolly@gmail.com. She is presently living as an expat in Costa Rica with her extra-large Labrador Retriever, Toby.
