Overview
Hundreds of voices of slaves are calling for help to please come back to the South and deliver them from their oppressive slave masters. Join the African American Abolitionist Harriet Tubman and four former slaves head South on an adventure that begins with hiding in a hayloft to escape capture by two plantation trackers. Be an eyewitness to the first shots of the Civil War exploding over Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor. Hear the cries of a young lad dashing into his burning plantation home to rescue his dog trapped in one of the fires set by William Tecumseh Sherman on his devastating "March to the Sea." Be part of the celebration at Appomattox Courthouse when the Civil War finally ends. Join the flight to the North Star and don't stop running until you have reached the land where people don't beat you and curse you and treat you "like a slit hog hanging from a tree."
Description
Harriet Tubman and four former slaves cross the Delaware River and head South to bring freedom to plantation slaves. Watch Country Ham Jones flee from plantation owners as a home burns in a fire set by slave girl Ebony. See Harriet steal secrets from Confederate Generals as she serves them "pie in disguise." Witness firsthand the Hunley Submarine sinking into the deep. Be at the slave market as several slaves are auctioned to the wicked plantation owners. Feel the frustration of young Emmanuel as he fruitlessly attempts to gain his freedom after the Emmancipation Proclamation is signed. Will Harriet and her prized possessions finally reach the North Star and Freedom?
