Overview
Relax and enjoy this fast-paced, lighthearted mystery surrounding a 30 year-old unsolved crime. It’s about finding the money. Meet the movers and shakers of Nowhere, Missouri as a ‘cold case’ is reopened and sends the small township into a fever of excitement and chaos. Incompetent FBI agents, a strange mortician, two dwarfs and a cat with bad karma are just some of the characters you’ll meet. Then there’s Mordon Ackford, Accountant and Justice of the Peace of Nowhere whose greatest pleasure in life is a cup of coffee and an oatmeal cookie. His life is about to change dramatically as he discovers too many people are not who they claim to be.
Description
Nothing ever happens in the small Southern Baptist township of Nowhere Missouri, and that’s the way the residents liked it. So it was a foreboding day when two FBI agents showed up announcing they were re-opening a 30 year-old cold case and asking questions about the township’s rich benefactor and legendary bad-boy. Where did he hide the money? Unfortunately, this paragon of Nowhere had been dead for many years, and the town folk were not about to say anything to besmirch the beloved memory of their favorite son. This put Mordon Ackford, Accountant and Justice of the Peace in the unenviable position of focal point for the two bungling government agents. Trying to balance the legal, moral and ethical issues against what is best for the township was definitely not going to be easy. Chaos erupted when the whole town became enmeshed in long buried secrets which threatened the peace and isolation they held sacred. You just can’t ignore missing bodies, a smarmy mortician with a hidden agenda, two circus dwarves who call the town’s cemetery home and a talented cat who killed one person. Well, so far….
