About The Author

Sheffield Hilliard was born and raised in Texas, and holds degrees in Bible and Theology. Having a longing for the outdoors he moved from Texas to the mountains near Yosemite to be an instructor in an outdoor wilderness and backpacking school. His passion for the wilderness kept him near Yosemite for the next 25 years of his life where he married and raised a family. He held careers as a minister, a restaurant owner, and a banking professional. His love for family brought him back to the Austin, Texas area where he still enjoys the beautiful natural settings.
