About the author
Once upon a time in the big city of New York, actor and singer Deborah Grow was starring in musicals, opera, as well as television and radio commercials. An idea popped into her head that if learning English was as easy as remembering a commercial jingle, children all over the world could enjoy learning English through music. The first seed in the English Garden was planted.
A twist of fate led Deborah to Japan, where she began to cultivate that seed of an idea. She began teaching young children English and rhythmics, and found that through her very own books and catchy songs, she was providing multi-sensory learning. Seedlings were growing in the English Garden, and children were enjoying English and music to unlock the world around them.
In 2007, Deborah began The English Garden Studio in Tsukuba, where her students and their parents have been delighted by their rapid progress in natural English communication. Carefully nurturing her growing garden of songs and books, the story comes full circle as Deborah has found and inspired a world-class team to help the garden bloom and grow. Honeysuckle Cottage, a set of 5 books and songs with accompanying skill building games, was launched in December of 2011 and Fifty Fun Pre-K Activities is Deborah's newest resource to help children become successful lifelong learners.
