Description
Truthfully, the trail we follow through infertility is not an easy one. We will stumble and fall, meander at times, and occasionally skip with joy. The key is that you will not be alone and you won't be without your walking tools; the following chapters are meant to serve as your compass, map, and mile markers. And me? Well, I'm your walking partner. As we take this walk together, my ultimate intention for you is to find HOPE . . . Hope to alleviate fears and uncertainties Hope that you move forward on your journey Hope that your dreams will come true Hope that you will find peace within yourself Let's go take a walk . . .
About the author

Tamara Tobias
Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner

Certified Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner, Tamara Tobias has been offering care in reproductive medicine since 1997. Tamara obtained her Nursing degree from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, Nurse Practitioner training at Harbor-UCLA, and Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from California State University, Long Beach.

Tamara is an active leader in the Fertility Community. She founded the Reproductive Nursing Association (RNA) of San Diego and Southern Orange County when she was working at the San Diego Fertility Center and was founding member of Seattle Tacoma Area Reproductive Society (STARS) when she moved to Seattle and began working at Seattle Reproductive Medicine (SRM). Both societies are non-profit organizations established to provide continuing education and networking for fertility experts.

Tamara is truly passionate about reproductive medicine both on a professional and personal level. On a professional level, some of her other accomplishments include:

  • In 2007, she was elected on the Executive Council of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART)
  • Active American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) member, serving on the SART Validation Committee and Chair of the Advanced Practice Provider Committee
  • Past Chair of the Nurses’ Professional Group (NPG) within ASRM
  • Invited speaker at ASRM Annual Meetings and other professional conferences
  • Published several articles in nursing newsletters and journals
  • Recognized in 2014 as one of Seattle Magazine’s Top Nurse Practitioners

On a personal level, Tamara’s love for reproductive medicine stems from her own experience. After eight years of infertility and that emotional monthly turmoil, she and her husband conceived through  IVF treatment. Those were very difficult times in her life and marriage, but her fertility journey did not stop there. Nine years later, she and her husband, Tim, adopted a beautiful little girl.

Life is so unpredictable with bends and roadblocks that seem impassable but Tamara’s motto to this day is, “Believe in Miracles.” In fact, this reminder is on a pin that she wears on her lab coat every single day.
