Fate Has No Name

A government employee has his life changed when he becomes infatuated with a college girl. Using any illegal means necessary, he finds out whatever he can about her, all without making sure she never even knows he exists. However, the more he discovers, the more he realizes things are not what they seem and he becomes obsessed with protecting her from dangers of which she was not aware. It's not love, it's fate.

Everything's going well for him. A decent government job, a few friends, and a comfortable routine. One night, that all changes as he watches a typical college girl play volleyball on a local sports network. He becomes infatuated and using any means at his disposal, legal or not, he finds out all he can about her. His first rule is that she never know that he even exists. However, the more he finds out about her, the more he becomes convinced that fate has demanded he intervene in her life to protect her from dangers that she doesn't know about. The closer he gets to her life and the lives of those around her, the more dramatic and extreme measures he finds himself willing to take to not only protect her, but make sure she never knows about any of it. It's not love. It's fate.

After graduating college, Dan Barker spent the next several years wandering about the US, Europe and Asia in search of good friends, good times, and most important, good coffee. He draws upon these experiences and his own imagination to create stories that he hopes will entertain his readers. Currently, he splits the rent on his Madison, Wisconsin apartment with his cat, Henry.
