Fast Food for Thought

Fast Food for Thought spurs writers into thinking, discussing, and writing in an educational setting. The THOUGHTS, TOPICS, PROVERBS, and IDIOMS were collected over the years from many sources. They serve as springboards for discussion and "quick-writes" and have been used successfully in writers' workshops in upper elementary and middle schools. The study of literature is the study of life, and a language comes alive in its idioms. Obviously, we think in words. Unique language empowers us to become more insightful and better able to understand and to cope with our complex world. I encourage teachers and writers to question the quotations, confront the logic, and not accept these thoughts blindly. Too, readers might research the original authors, their intents, and context.
