In "Faithworks" Jerry Capra takes us on a path beginning with his young idyllic life in the Midwest. He grew up in a traditional two parent family home. Extended family members supported his interest in sports. We're thrown for a curve when he descends down a rabbit hole of self-destruction. Choices he made as a teenager plagued him for over thirty years. An alcohol addiction fueled those poor choices leading to incarceration not once but three times. His journey leads us through a seemingly endless maze of jail, prison and court proceedings. Finally, he faced twenty years to life in prison. A burning desire to reconcile with his daughter led Jerry to accept the power of God in his life. He met Incredible people who extended their expertise and heartfelt guidance when he desperately needed help. These included a young attorney named Elena who believed in him and his transformation, a caring counselor and a fellow inmate who invited him to Bible studies. He was presented with the hope of redemption by following Jesus Christ. Forgiveness and reconciliation were the blessings he received. His attorney Elena graciously wrote the foreword for Jerry's book. It highlights the details of their work together through the relationship they've developed. Jerry's daughter Michelle shared her up close and personal account of her childhood. Her story is heartbreaking. Like Jerry she is unabashedly honest about the struggles they faced. Their relationship flourished through the transformation Michelle witnessed. His dedication to consciously follow Jesus resulted in a bright new beginning with a promising future. Jerry's personal transformation is phenomenal.
